Volume I

If you're new here, the easiest way to explain this place is that it's a record. Not of what happened. Of what it felt like.

Most of these essays were written long after the moment itself had passed — not because I was trying to tell the story correctly, but because writing is how I find out what I actually think.

This archive is full of grief, motherhood, family, faith, uncertainty, love, disappointment, hope, and the strange work of becoming. But underneath all of it is the same question:

What do we do with a life that doesn't unfold the way we imagined?

I don't write from the finish line. I write from the middle. From the places where certainty has already fallen apart and something truer is still trying to emerge.

I'm not here to give answers or solutions. I'm just here to say the quiet things out loud.

This space won't always be heavy. But it will always be honest.

If any of that sounds familiar, you're probably in the right place.

Writing from the middle of things
§ Where to start

There isn't really a right place to begin.

But here are a few paths through the archive, depending on what brought you here.

Path 01
The tired
If you are carrying more than you can say
Path 02
The grieving
If you are missing someone who is still alive
Path 03
The angry
If you have been watching the news and cannot look away
Path 04
The unmoored
If something in your life has come apart
Path 05
The hopeful
If you would rather start somewhere warm
The archive is still growing
